Earth, Fire, Air, Water – they have more power than you dream.
Ever since her ex-boyfriend spread those lies about her, Becca Chandler is suddenly getting all the guys—all the ones she doesn’t want. Then she saves Chris Merrick from a beating in the school parking lot. Chris is different. Way different: he can control water—just like his brothers can control fire, wind, and earth. They’re powerful. Dangerous. Marked for death.
And now that she knows the truth, so is Becca.
Secrets are hard to keep when your life’s at stake. When Hunter, the mysterious new kid around school, turns up with a talent for being in the wrong place at the right time, Becca thinks she can trust him. But then Hunter goes head-to-head with Chris, and Becca wonders who’s hiding the most dangerous truth of all.
The storm is coming . . .
THE ONLY SPOILERS ARE IN THE GIF SUMMARY
If you love hot guys and sassy characters and fantasy pertaining to the elements then this book is your cup of tea.
Notice, however, that this review will be fairly short for a variety of reasons but mostly I just want to persuade you to read this book. (The only thing containing spoilers is the gif summary at the end.) I definitely wish someone would have encouraged me to buy and read this book because funny story, I actually was going to buy this series a long time ago, but I never did because I was very if-y about the plot.
This book contains an insane amount of sarcasm that it is incredibly hilarious and I wish I would’ve bought it instead of borrowing it from the library.
The main sources of sarcasm are the 4 Merrick brothers: Chris(topher), Nick (Nicholas), Gabriel, and Michael.
Also, this is important but I think it’s pretty funny and possible coincidental, all the brothers have angel/saint names which I think is pretty cool but I have no idea if it will be important to the story but I just wanted to point that out.
One thing that should be focused on when getting to read this book is that the romance isn’t the main focus of the story. The romance is a part of it, but it really is just about the story of the Merrick’s and their supernatural abilities that allows them to control elements.
The romance was still very good and was not overbearing at all which I loved. This story is so action-packed that it barely allows room for the romance; It goes from a romantic moment to BOOM action scene. It leaves the reader wanting more.
I honestly advise anyone wanting to read this book to read the prequel first. The prequel is called Elemental and it’s only like 50 pages long (or less..?) You don’t have to but it really helps. I didn’t read it before Storm but I wish I would have.
